Founded in 1959, E.Tamussino & Cia. Ltda. imports and distributes medical products and equipment to physicians, private and public clinics and hospitals in the following areas: AAA Endovascular Treatments, Anesthesia, Audiometry, Cardiology, Colonoscopy, Critical Care, Emergencies and/or Rescues, Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, Hemodynamic, Occupational Medicine, Oncology, Pneumology, Radiology (diagnosis and intervention), Surgery and Vascular Surgery.

Its Headquarter is in Rio de Janeiro-RJ and branch–offices are strategically located in major urban centers in Brazil, such as: São Paulo-SP, Curitiba-PR, Recife-PE and Porto Alegre-RS.

With an extensive experience, the company offers a complete line of products with warranty and technical assistance for physicians, hospitals and clinics all over Brazil.

The company's mission is to provide medical products that allow precise diagnosis, less traumatic procedures and reduces time of hospitalization with the objective of improving the efficiency of treatment and life quality.


History

  • 1950

    Henrique Gomma, born in Berlin/ Germany, founded the Henrique Gomma & Cia. Ltda. company in Rio de Janeiro in December 1959.

  • 1960

    In 1964, Mr. Ekkehart Tamussino was invited by Henrique Gomma to be his partner. The company had only the two partners and two employees at that time.

  • 1970

    In 1978, the company´s name was changed to Gomma-Tamussino & Cia. Ltda. The first branch-office was opened in 1977 in São Paulo.

  • 1980

    In 1980, the name was changed again to E.Tamussino e Cia. Ltda., when Mr. Ekkehart Tamussino acquired the majority of the company. During this time the company was importing and distributing medical products mainly for Radiology. At beginning of the decade, in 1981, due to changes in the Brazilian market and politics, the company started to manufacture small X-Ray equipment’s for Mammography and general use in Trauma-Orthopedics.

  • 1990

    After the reopening of Brazil to the international market in the early 90s, E.Tamussino decided to move from the well-known high quality and long lasting equipment’s production to new and existing contacts abroad such as worldwide known companies as Cook Medical and former Micro Medical (today Care Fusion) and started to import and distribute medical products all over Brazil. A second branch-office was opened in 1993 in Curitiba, state of Paraná.

  • 2000

    In 2000 and 2004 two new branch-offices were opened, one in Recife, northeast of Brazil, and the other one in Porto Alegre south of the country. With worldwide commercial partners and several employees allotted at headquarter and five branch-offices, E.Tamussino is acknowledged in the market for its professionalism, quality and excellency of its products and service. New Distribution Contracts were signed with new partners from Germany, Denmark, and Ireland keeping the company on growing every year.

    In 2005 E.Tamussino was for the first time attested by The Certificate of "Good Performance in Importation, Storage and Distribution of Medical Products" and granted by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and by the ISO Certificate 9001:2000* issued by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT).

    * Today the reviewed and valid ISO Certificate is the 9001:2008.

  • 2010

    Today the company keeps on growing and expanding its business with almost 300 employees spread all over Brazil. Our biggest concern is to grow without losing one of our biggest qualities, prime customer service.

    To assure that the prime service is being achieved, the company keeps renewing its Certificate of "Good Performance in Importation, Storage and Distribution of Medical Products" granted by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and the ISO Certificate 9001:2008 issued by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT).
